Goal: Discussing Philosophies of Education

Vocabulary:

Protagonist = the main character of a story; the good guy

Antagonist = the villain; the bad guy

To object = to be against something

Reflection = deep thinking

Passive learning = just learning without any active thinking

Outlandish = ridiculous

Noble = honorable; worthy of respect

Meaningful = something important or of great value

Ex. I hope this was a meaningful experience for you.

 

Discussion Question: 

*What are your feelings about passive vs. active learning?  Is criticism and reflection essential for good learning?

*Do you believe going out in the world is essential for developing a person’s mind?
