Example of Descriptive Writing:

It was a clear, sunny day at Camp Friendship with the sun sparkling off the lake’s surface like a million diamonds. Campers and counselors were happily swimming and playing games in the pool beside the lake on a humid July afternoon.

Josh, the director of the camp, was in his office in the main cabin with Iman, his co-director, a couple of counselors and campers as well as a cameraperson.  They were preparing to do a promotional ad for the camp, famous for bringing people from around the world to learn about each other’s culture and build friendship across religious, national, and cultural boundaries.

Another Example of Descriptive Writing:

I went into a room.  It was old.  The wooden door creaked loudly when I entered it.  The floor was made of old wood, and I could see dust floating in the air.  I could hear the sounds of something screaming, but it was hidden from me.
