Puss and Boots, Kitty Softpaws, and Perrito, also known as "Team Friendship" are able to recover the map to the wishing star from Goldi Locks and the Three Bears, but as soon as they do, Puss is transported to the Cave of Souls where he meets his eight former lives. He has a great time reliving good memories with them, but it becomes very apparent that in his previous lives he was self-centered and only cared for himself and his adventures. He is confronted by the wolf bounty hunter again, who Puss now realizes is "death" itself coming after him.
Everyone finally reaches the Wishing Star, and Puss is ready to wish for his nine lives back, but Perrito has made it clear that he has only had one life, and Kitty Softpaws wants to know if one life with people who care about you is good enough. Eventually, Puss realizes that one life with his friends is really all he wants, and he is able to scare "death" away because he is no longer afraid of it.
One theme of the story seems to be that Puss always wanted to live the life of a legend, but he didn't appreciate lovers or friends during this time.
Question: Do you think people appreciate their lives enough, or do they always want more things from it than they should?
