*Unit 3 Quiz (probably pretty small) on Wednesday

*Final Exam on Thursday, 11:00-12:00 PM (You get to sleep in!) 

*Final Friday, pickup grade reports at 10:30 AM (location to be determined) 


Vocabulary:

Grammar: too and enough 

Enough = a good amount or level

Not enough = not a good amount or level

Too = it should be less


 Examples: 

I have enough money to buy a good car (I can buy the car)

I don’t have enough money to buy a good car (I need more money)

You are smart enough to go to Harvard (you can do it)

You are athletic enough to join the Olympics (you can do it)

You are not smart enough (you need to be smarter)

You are not athletic enough to join the Olympics (you need to be more athletic)

You are unhealthy because you don’t eat enough vegetables. 

You are doing bad this month because you are not paying attention enough in my class!!!!!

He went to Harvard because he was smart enough to get in. 

You have been smart enough all of your life to do whatever you want. 

You haven’t listened enough to me, and that is why you are failing. 

Someday, you’ll be good enough to become a professional athlete. 

 

You are very smart; I have a good brother, he is very smart. 

LTC computers are too slow

Alumni building is too dark

Alumni building is too old

The movie is 4 hours.  It is too long. 

When I go into downtown Philly, people speak too fast for me to understand them. 

You are too fast = you are not slow enough

You are too smart = you are not stupid enough

You are too stupid = you are not smart enough

Too many = countable nouns

Too much = uncountable nouns

 

There are too many cars in the street; there is too much trash in the street
