Automatically = do something without thinking or
hesitating
Capacity = how much of something you can do or can
handle
Ex. This room has a capacity to fit about 20
students.
Emergence = something that appeared out of nowhere and
unexpectedly
Ex. The emergence of Smart Phones about 15 years ago
changed how people communicate.
Deceptive = someone or something that makes you
believe something that is not true.
Prominent = something of high status
Ex. UPenn is a prominent university in the United
States.
Impostor = a fake person
Ex. Mr. Nate is an impostor. He said he was a teacher, but he really sells
cars. This was very deceptive of
him.
Deceitful = someone who lies to people
Gullible = you believe everything people tell you
Fundamental = basic things
Prone to = something is likely to happen to you
Ex. People who smoke too much are prone to having
different diseases
Systematically = something that comes from an
organized plan or action
Thrive = be successful; do well at something
Ex. I hope you are thriving at ELS.
Transgression = a bad action
Condone = to say that behavior is good or ok
Condemn = to say that behavior is bad and not ok
A milestone = a very important event in your life
Ex. Graduation, marriage, having a child, getting a
job
