Ex. Gun violence is an enduring problem here in the
USA.
Abandon = leave it and don’t come back to it
Extinction = when something is completely gone; died
out
Ex. Dinosaurs are extinct. Scientists believe an asteroid caused the
extinction of the dinosaurs.
Diversity = many types of something
Ex. The ELS student body has a lot of diversity/is
diverse
Neglect = don’t pay attention to
Ex. I have a bad teacher. He neglects the class.
