Film and Discussion, Puss and Boots

 By Nate Feldman

Yesterday, we saw how Puss and Boots was after the map to the wishing star, and he was trying to take it from Big Jack Horner.  While he was trying to get it, he was interrupted by Kitty Softpaws, a former lover of his, who is also in search of the Wishing Star.  They fight over the map, but they are able to run away , along with the dog, from Big Jack Horner, as well as Goldi Locks and the three bears.

The map shows a path to the wishing star, but for each character, the path looks different based on the type of person they are.  For the dog, it is so easy because he is so nice.  For Puss and Kitty Softpaws, it is so difficult because they are complicated characters.

Meanwhile, Jack Horner and the bears catch up with them and fight for control of the map.

This story, like Raya and the Last Dragon, has the theme of trust.  The dog trusts everyone, even those who have tried to hurt him really badly.  He wears a sock around him because his brothers and sisters tried to drown him in it with a rock, but he thinks it was just a game.  Puss and Kitty do not trust easily and prefer to do things alone.

*Question for discussion: If you get hurt, is it hard for you to trust again, or do you forgive easily?
