Short Writing: Counter-argument/refutation
From my perspective, critically endangered languages should be preserved in some way or another. Some people might argue that these efforts are a waste of time and there are more urgent matters than whether a language of 100 people is saved or not (counter-argument). While I understand that there seem to be more pressing concerns in the world, I think this approach is misguided (concession). Assuming that a language is unimportant because less people speak it gives power to the mighty and takes it away from those with less influence. Furthermore, who are we to judge what languages are important or not (refutation)? All have value and incredible information.

Since
I was a child, I have always enjoyed a delicious chocolate candy bar of some
kind. Whether it was a Milky Way,
Hershey Bar, or three Musketeers, I have always craved things with
chocolate. Recently, I’ve heard talk
about people eating chocolate every day with every meal. I must admit that this is very tempting, but
is this a good idea? From my
perspective, we should eat chocolate only occasionally instead of all the time.
