is getting more and more expensive to live in Philadelphia. According to the Philadelphia government’s website, the price of
renting a place increased by 13% in the last decade.
Exposure =
is when you encounter or face something
I have had a lot of exposure to second-hand smoking.
During the summer, you must be careful of too much sun exposure.
Disperse = things to be scattered away from a central
point.
After class, the students disperse to their homes.
Suspended
= hanging in the air
After bungee jumping, the person was suspended in the air until they brought
them down.
Ailment =
sickness; illness
The common cold is a typical ailment people get, especially during the cold season. Any virus is an ailment.
To contaminate = to make something dirty
A contaminant = a dirty thing
There are a lot of contaminants in the water.
To monitor = to watch something carefully
I will monitor you during your class activity
