SSP Moscow, Vocabulary and Grammar

Vocabulary: 

A snapshot = a brief description of something

*I’ll give you a snapshot of the ELS program.  You take different classes five days a week to improve your English. 

A low-lying area = a place close to the sea in a low place, not high in the mountains

A project = an assignment you do (school or work) to accomplish something

 

Passive Voice: 

Arabic is spoken in Saudi Arabia

Football is played around the world. 

 I drink the water

The water is drunk by me

 English is taught at ELS

Students are taught English at ELS. 

 This building was built recently. 

The buildings here were built a long time ago. 

 Many buildings have been built in the Philadelphia area. 

A new building has been built across the street. 

 This session, I am being taught English by Nate. 

The children are being taught by the teacher. 

Many people are being killed in this country. 

 I will help you tomorrow.

Tomorrow, you will be helped.

Are you being treated fairly by American people?

When was your dinner made last night?

Is there anything that will be done this weekend?
