1. One of my favorite holidays is the American Thanksgiving holiday.  It takes place _________November.  It is _________the fourth Thursday in this month.  People gather _________this day to have a big feast, with food like turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, salad, and pumpkin pie.  

2. Halloween happens every year ___________October 31.  ___________this day, people dress in costumes and go to people's houses and ask for candy.

3. The American Independence Day is _____________July 4th every year.  People have cookouts, and at night there are firework shows.  We celebrate ___________this day because the Declaration of Independence was signed _____________July 4, 1776.  

4. Memorial Day is a holiday ______________May.  It is _____________the last Monday of May.  People have parades and remember the soldiers that fought and died for the United States.  

5. Valentine's Day is a day of love _____________February.  It happens every year ____________February 14.  People by flowers and chocolate for their loved ones and have a nice time with them.
