Reading and Writing, Angkor Wat, Quiz 1

 The Workaholic:

Many years ago, I was a workaholic.  I worked all of the time.  When I was in bed, I did my work, so I did not rest a lot.  When I was outside, I did my work, so I did not enjoy natural things.  I did my work when I was doing other work.  I worked so hard because I wanted to have a successful career and make a lot of money.  Sometimes, I worked 16 hours a day.    If I worked hard, I could have a good position and a lot of respect.  People say good things about people with good jobs and positions.

After I worked so hard for many years, I became so tired and angry.  I was completely exhausted.  I needed time to relax.  I also needed time to be with family and friends.  Because of these things, I am no longer a workaholic.  Now, I work for eight hours, and then I stop.  I like to do fun things with friends and family as well.  I am a better person now.

My father was also a workaholic.  He spent so much time at his job.  I didn't see him at night.  Sometimes, he stayed at his office and he slept the night there.  I learned this behavior from him.
