*traffic jam = many cars on the road and it doesn't move 

*to arrive = to get to a place

Story: My Trip to the Airport 

 One day, I went to the airport to pick up my mother.  She was on a vacation.  She went to Ireland because she wanted to go there.  She was there for ten days.  When I was on the road, there were a lot of cars.  There were traffic jams.  It was the evening, so it was a very busy time.  I waited for a long time on the road.  Finally, I arrived at the airport, and I waited for my mother to come.  I was there about thirty minutes or so.  After she came, we drove back to our home.  She told me all about her interesting time in Ireland.
