Today, we watched a video and listened to an audio about the MLK day of service. Here are sine questions I asked the class about this.
*What kind of legacy would you like to leave on the
world? How do you want people to
remember you?
*What kind of philanthropy would you be interested
in? In other words, how would you like
to use your money to better your community?
My organization is a home for elderly people in our
community. We are in search of
volunteers in a number of activities.
1. We
need people to socialize with the elderly people. You can come and play games or music for
them.
2. We
need people to help clean up the place after activities.
1. Unjust =
not fair
*Mr. Nate only talks to the students
he prefers. And he ignores everyone
else. Mr. Nate is so unjust.
2. dig deeper = to go into
a subject in detail.
*If we want to understand why the
movement succeeded, we must dig deeper and understand its strategies.
3.unconstitutional = something that violates the constitutional rules
for a country
4. emerge = to appear unexpectedly
*Many problems have emerged in the
last year. Many problems have suddenly
appeared.
5. resist = to fight back against something
*The teacher tried to make us write a
200 page essay, but we all resisted, and he was fired.
6. unconventional = not the typical
way of doing something
7. deprive = to take away an
essential thing from someone
*Sleep-deprived = lacking sleep
8. legitimate = real; acceptable
*You complained that the LTC
computers are too old. That’s legitimate.
9. distrust = to not trust someone
*I won’t tell you my secrets because
I distrust you.
10. commonality = something similar
between things
*One commonality between the two
parks is they both have scenic views.
*What are in your opinion legitimate
expectations people should have for their lives? By that I mean, what are things all humans
have a right to and should be angry if they don’t have that?
