Descriptive Reading and Writing, An Old House

An Old House

There are some places that creep you out when you think of them.  I haven’t been to many of those, but one that comes to mind is an old house at the end of my street.  I used to go in it, and when I did, it really gave me a bad feeling.

When you saw it from the street, it was completely dilapidated.  The windows had large cracks, and parts of the roof had caved in.  It looked like no one had lived in it for decades.  The grass in the front lawn was waist-high because no one had mowed it.  (Outside appearance)

When I entered the house, the door made a loud creaking sound.  Moats of dust flew up in my face as I entered the dark room.  It was completely abandoned, so all I could hear was the sound of my feet thumping on the floor.  There were dark black stains on both the floor and the wall, giving an appearance that it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. (Inside appearance)

I ran away from that place feeling that someone might be in there ready to attack.  The dark impression of that terrifying house will be with me forever.
