A significant hot spot in Washington, DC is The National Mall. This area includes important museums and monuments. On one side is the Lincoln Memorial, which includes a giant statue of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, sitting on a giant chair, looking out over the nation's capital. In the middle is the Washington Monument, a giant obelisk pointing up to the sky. On the far end is the U.S. Capital Building, the place where the U.S. Congress meets to make laws. In-between these important places are tons of museums that people can enter for free, such as the Air and Space Museum and many others. So, if you are in the DC area, I highly recommend you visit this hot spot for both tourists and locals alike.
